May 1st | Workshop: Building Solidarity with Mexico III | Email LMS to be invited

This event is part of a series of internal workshops for LMS to discuss the ongoing situation in Mexico out of the sources of the Zapatista communiqués and events. This time we will focus on the ‘Women Who Fight’ gathering hosted by the Zapatista women last March. We will have a skype meeting with women who attended the gathering and who will share their views and experienes with us. We will also discuss some of the written material produce afterwards and the discussions of the event in independent media. Email LMS to join this meeting and get the reading material

Fundraising for the victims of the latest earthquake in Mexico. Come and join us for this second fundraising to celebrate our culture and gather resources for those in need following the earthwakes from last September.

 

December 5 | Workshop: Building Solidarity with Mexico II | Email LMS to be invited

This event is part of a series of internal workshops for LMS to discuss the ongoing situation in Mexico out of the sources of the Zapatista communiqués and events. This time we will focus on the proposal of the National Indigenous Congress to conform a Governing Indigenous Council and to participate on that platform in the coming 2018 presidential elections with María de Jesús Patricio as spokewoman. We will have a skype meeting with LMS members in Mexico and discuss the latest communiqués explaining the proposal and the diagnosis of Mexico’s current political situation on which it is based. This is the second session to discuss this topic. Email LMS to join this meeting and get the reading material.

April 3 – April 8 | Footprints of Memory. In the Search for Mexico’s Disappeared | Exhibition in Aberystwyth

These are the shoes of relatives searching for their missing loved ones in Mexico, engraved with words about their search. In the opening we will have the participation of artist Alfredo González Casanova and María de Jesús Tlatempa Bello, mother of José Eduardo Bartolo Tlatempa, one of the 43 students disappeared in Ayotzinapa since September 2014. Event organised by Huellas de la Memoria and Aberystwyth University. Programme:

Join London Mexico Solidarity for a conversation with Paula Mónaco and Miguel Tovar on the brave work that journalists are doing in the context of the so called “War on Drugs” in Mexico.
